Distributed (On-site) Generation
Distributed Generation (DG) allows member-owners the opportunity to produce some or all of the electricty they need through their own generating technologies, most commonly wind or solar.
Are you intersted in or considering Distributed Generation? Contact Heartland Power and use the following resources to help make the best decisions for your energy needs!
ALTERNATE ENERGY PRODUCTION FACILITY NOTICE: Required for all new installations
As of January 1, 2013, owners of an alternate energy production facility which will be attached to an electric transmission or distribution line are required to provide written notification to their utility of the intent to construct or install the facility at least 30 days prior to construction. In the written notice the owner must provide information on the type of facility and the anticipated completion date of the construction. Alternate energy production facilities are defined as solar, wind turbine, waste management, resource recovery, refuse-derived fuel, agricultural crops or residues, or wood burning facilities to generate electricity.
Heartland Power has put together a form to help with this new requirement. Click here to view and print the alternate energy form of notice.
